Info from Kevin 2007-07-07

Hello!

I've been a lurker for a while and this is my first post here *waves*
Just got home from the Primal Scream gig in Moscow. After the gig I met Kevin on his way to the band bus.
About that "mini" album he told me, smiling, it's half-true...
The most f#$in' unbelievably shocking information for me is that there will be MBV reunion next year, new album and tour (they'll hopefully eve play here in Russia). As for the line up, he said it will be "original, for sure"......
I'm really sorry, but I was kinda excited, there were security and some other people, so this is all the information I can provide you. Even if now I think about more concrete questions I've should ask Kevin. But you know what?.. I never dreamt of meeting Kev.. and this information is so exciting.. Now we can hope that we will see a new album and the band playing live!

Moscow, Holland, he's getting about a bit isn't he?  When am I gonna get to meet him, I live in the same country for God's sake!  I wonder how many 'next years' our Kevin's got in him though?  And that 'half-true' comment sounds a bit ominous...at least he seemed to know what you were talking about though, so there might be something in it.

Anyway, thanks for that Slava - nice Sonic Youth pictures, too.

Thanks for all the welcome! Thank you for your comment on SY pics, mxy! It's a pity I didn't bring my camera this time (nor MBV CDs or my guitar to sign, haha!)

I understand your doubts, it's still kinda surreal for me. I even re-asked Kev a couple of times ... He was so calm... like he was talking about a weather or something 

Still, would be great if Kevin will official announce this on this site!

Kev's doing pretty well maintaining the 90s indie hairdo for a guy in his 40s, isn't he? 
I'm going to try and believe you, Whisperit! Of course, Kevin *intending* for something with the band to happen next year and for it to actually happen before the next Ice Age might not necessarily be the same thing.... Fingers crossed.

I don't believe this. Why would he tell this big news to a random person he meets at a gig in Russia? Or did he really think this person would keep it for himself? Kevin doesn't seem like the kind of person who's looking for attention, and he'll sure get it if this is all true..

No offense to the poster btw.

If this is actually true than it's the best thing to ever happen in my life, I've been wanting them to reform for years.. God it would be so great to see them live and to hear a new album.
